It is a belief in the minds of many techno savvy people that Microsoft has lost its touch against Google in terms of innovation. While Google came up with many innovative products like Google Reader, GMail,Google Earth, Google Talk, Google Web Accelerator, Google AdSense, Picasa and many more search engine products which can be found at Google Labs, Microsoft obiviously seemed lagging far behind with Google's AJAX products.

Yahoo! Also came out with WEB 2.0 technologies like My WEB and lots more which can be found here: Yahoo! Next. Both Yahoo! And Google work aggressively on developing and marketing front. However both companies developed all these product using AJAX technology and WEB 2.0 concept. They acquired many companies especially those companies who are working in RSS related stuff like blog and podcast or bookmarks. As Google has blogger.com for Blogs, Yahoo has its new 360 blog with a network friendship feature like Google's ORKUT. Microsoft is not behind in any case however with its SPACES blog spot. But, MSN brand has lost its steam. HOTMAIL is lagging far behind in terms of facilities and storage space provided by Google Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. While Google is providing more than 2.5 GB of storage space, Yahoo! is there with 1 GB space and Hotmail with just 250 MB.

However there are MSN softwares in each field to compete with two main rivals like My MSN, Microsoft Virtual Earth and many other products. But soon MSFT realise to create a new brand to compete. The new brand is LIVE and Microsoft has even released its email version with whooping 2 GB of storage space, LIVE MAIL and now LIVE MESSENGER. I have received invitation and I found it cool. However, Yahoo! has also released its Messenger 7.5 BETA just 3 days after Microsoft LIVE Messenger 8.0 BETA got released. Live mail has now feature similar to Yahoo mail's auto complete tool which fills email address in To, CC and BCC fields very quickly. It works using AJAX. I found it like online OUTLOOK though.

LIVE Messenger has a feature to see video inside it against Yahoo!'s Launch Radio feature. Google talk is far behind in this game. All there behemoths are fighting for VOIP market. Lets see who leads. I believe its not important how many products you have, it is important how many products have quality and more features. Like Google Talk is not good and so is Google Reader. But Google Earth is very cool. Google is behind as its blogger.com and ORKUT brand are not associated together quite clearly while Yahoo! is far ahead in integrating all its Yahoo Messenger, Mail, FLICKR, 360 blog and social networking concept. So Google has still lot to do in terms of integrating its own products. However Google has one big advantage which none other main competitor have: Google Adsense! All these companies are fighting for desktop searching market also in which Microsoft and Google have launched their products.
